The scoring wheel, it's a tool that every manual tile cutter needs and altough it's so important, sometimes we can forget or not bear in mind. The scoring wheel is the part of the manual tile cutter within we scratch on the tile. and subsequently thorough mechanich power we will separate to obtain the cut. Depending on the scratched we will obtain a best or worse cutting quality and in some cases the cut will depend on in a great part of this scrathed. The RUBI & DO IT scoring wheels are divided in three spares: handle, axis and wheel.. This wheel, made in tungsten carbide, is the part of the scoring wheel that will be in contact with the tile during the scratching process.
In the RUBI & DO IT range, we offer four different diameters (6, 8,, 10 and 12mm) within we will obtain the best accuracy, cutting quality and durability as well. As follows we explain the uses of the differents diameters amd within materials are suitable to use:
SCORING WHEEl 6mm: the smallest, we use this scoring wheel for coating materials, smooth glazed tiles and ceramics less than 40 cm.,
SCORING WHEEL 8mm: suitable for smooth glazed tiles and specially for porcelain tiles
SCORING WHEEL 10mm; this scoring wheel is suitable for mixed glazes and ceramics up to 40 cm
SCORING WHEEL 18mm; scoring wheel specially made for rustic ceramics and materials difficult to cut as porcelain tiles with rugous glazed.
These scoring wheels, apart from having different diameters, also have a different angle in the finishing of the roller guide, especially the 10mm, with which get a deeper incision. The four different rodeles are fully compatible with both cutters offered by the RUBI & DO IT, OPTIMA and MAXIMA, both range and in two different lengths
Sometimes we forget or ignore the importance of this tool when cutting the pieces when we have to make some reform or when we're doing an installation, sometimes why know there are different diameters, sometimes because we do not know their status or simply because we give full importance to the machine. And, it is totally understandable, due the value or the price used to be much lower than the machine, and often the machines has been servedwith any of them included. For example, it is as if we drive a F1 car with wheels in poor condition, so we can not get the best performance of the machine.
From RUBI & DO IT we emphasize the importance of this tool, revealing that the quality of the cut is determined by the scoring wheel, its state and its good choice when the grating, the cutting machine we only allow or not the separation, if powerful enough to carry out the work. In the ceramics market, which evolves constantly, we find numerous models with different materials, colors, sizes and hardness,; So, minimally knowing what each diameter wheel handle will help us make a good choice and thereby obtain the best cutting quality.
To grating must be careful that it is uniform from end to end of the piece, with the inlet and outlet the most delicate parts. The force must be moderate and steady, because if we do excessive force will influence negatively on the quality of cut and cutting-wheel life.
Hoping that it has been interesting and help them in RUBI & DO IT we are glad to resolve any emerging question and will continue disposed to help them in their reforms or small works in your home.
